School Day
Arrivals and Dismissals
The school day officially begins at 8:55 a.m. and concludes at 3:15 p.m.
Kindergarten Arrivals and Dismissals
Kindergarten AM Session - 8:55 - 11:35 a.m.
Kindergarten PM Session - 12:35 - 3:15 p.m.
Arrival Procedures
Students being transported to school by parents are required to be dropped off at the lower level entrance between 8:40 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. Students should not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m. If you arrive at the school before 8:40am, then please find a place to park, and remain in the car until 8:40am. Staff will come outside to help students safely exit vehicles and enter the building. Parents should not be escorting students to the building. At 8:55 a.m. the lower level entrance is locked. Students arriving after 8:55 a.m. are considered tardy, and are required to report to the building office with their parent or guardian to sign in before going to their classrooms. For the first few days of school, we are prepared to extend the arrival window if the traffic deems necessary.
Dismissal Procedures
When a child is being picked up early, the child must supply a parent note containing the child’s first and last name, the teacher’s name and a signature. Notes may be sent into school with students, but we are encouraging electronic communication via email whenever possible. Parents are encouraged to write a note with an original signature, take a picture of the note, and email it to the main office. The only notes that will be accepted via email will be those that contain photos or scans with original signatures. Please send to LE-attendance@l-spioneers.org
Please submit notes as early as possible, and the cut off time for all end of day transportation changes is 2:00 p.m.
At the end of the school day, students will be lined up to be dismissed to their assigned bus or vehicle based on the transportation selection that was made on the August survey. If your transportation selection has changed since the survey, please notify the LE office before the first day of school. If your child needs to take a different form of transportation than the one originally selected, please provide a note according to the procedures above.
Car Rider Dismissal
Each LE family will receive three car rider vehicle hang tags that will match a corresponding student tag. The student tag must be attached to the child’s backpack, and the hang tags must be visible to all staff when arriving to pick-up a child. Hang tags may be hand carried if the adult picking up the child walks to the parking lot side of the pick-up area at the lower level entrance. Children will only be released to someone with the appropriate tag during the 2021-22 school year. When picking up, please pull into the lower level entrance loop or parking lot. If you park in the lot, then please hand carry your tag to the cross walk area to be paired with your student(s). If you drive through the pick-up line, then please remain in your vehicle, to keep the flow of traffic moving. Staff members will be escorting students from the lower level exit, and will help to make sure each student is matched with the correct adult or vehicle.
For the first day of school, please plan to display a sign with your child’s name in the windshield of your car. The vehicle hang tags will have been distributed to all students on the first day of school, and then you will no longer need to display your child’s name.
For the 2021-22 school year, car riders will be dismissed for pick-up beginning at 3:15pm. The LE staff will organize the students for a smooth dismissal, and then the staff members will begin safely dismissing the students. Please be patient so that we can be sure to safely dismiss all students each day.
Prior to 3:00 p.m. and after 3:30 p.m. - Parents must sign out and pick up students at the main office.
Between 2:50 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - Parents should follow the procedures outlined above to pick their students up at the lower level entrance parking lot or loop. Students will not be dismissed from the office during this time.
